How to do a Fishtail High Bun

by HSI Professional | Jun 13 2016

The Fishtail high bun adds a fresh take on a classic bun

1. Begin by creating a high loose ponytail on the top of the head and secure with a rubber band

2. Take a hair doughnut and secure it around the elastic of the ponytail

3. Take a 1-2 inch section from the ponytail and set it aside using a clip

4. Begin to backcomb the rest of the ponytail to create volume and the base of the bun

5. Wrap the teased ponytail around the doughnut spreading the hair evenly around creating a bun

6. Tuck the hair under and secure the base with bobby pins

7. Take the 1-2 inch section that has been set aside and begin a fishtail braid by dividing that section into two pieces

8. Take a tiny piece of hair from the outside of each piece

9. And bring to the middle combining with the other one

10. When you reach the end secure with an elastic band

11. Tug on the edges of your braid to make it appear bigger and messier

12. Wrap the braid around the bun

13. Tug the end of the braid under the bun and secure with bobby pins
