How to Create the Best Hairstyles for Curly Hair
Some relish in the idea of having curly hair and for others, it is the absolute bane of their existence. We don’t know where you stand, but we do want to take a few minutes not only talking about the importance of using the best hair dryers for styling purposes, but also the importance of proper curl management – both of which can be a bit of a challenge. Before we get started, I want to say this: curls are beautiful. Yes, they can be difficult to manage and yes, they can definitely cause some undue frustration, but there are definitely ways to handle them and yes, you CAN make them look beautiful. Let’s go over a few things that you need to know about curly hair, and then talk about how you can make those fabulous styles happen!
Love the Curl – Become the Curl
They say the grass is always greener on the other side, and I’m going to say this right now: I used to hate having curls. I hated waking up in the morning and having to straighten out my hair like I was working my way through a dense patch of weeds with nothing but a broken weed eater and happy thoughts. You can probably tell I have some unresolved anger issues with my hair, but the most important thing, right now, is that I have absolutely, positively, learned to embrace the curl. Love your curls, enjoy them, and most importantly, rock them. Also, remember that it doesn’t hurt to have a professional salon hair dryer on hand.
Keep it Moisturized
Here’s a fun fact: naturally curly hair is already dry, and because of that, it’s going to be prone to frizz, but you don’t need us to tell you that! If you want to avoid the frizz, then you’re going to need to use products that don’t contain alcohol; it strips the oils from your hair, and if you really want to turn a corner in your haircare, you’re going to need to take advantage of your natural oils. If you take a look at our store, you’re going to find we have quite a few great products, including a subscription box that is going to keep your hair in great shape every single month (or every other month, depending upon the subscription model that you choose.
Use Shampoo Correctly
We’re going to say it once again: you don’t want to dry out your hair, and it’s way too easy to do that if you have curls. Here’s a fun fact: the more curly your hair is, the harder time the essential oils from your scalp will have reached the ends. This is why people with straight hair tend to have shinier, more healthy looking hair. Don’t worry, with a little bit of care and a little bit of an investment, you can have that too. Using a moisturizing shampoo, particularly some of the ones that we have in stock, you can definitely have the healthy hair that you’ve been seeking.
Conditioner is Everything
After you shampoo your hair, make sure that you condition it properly. If you don’t have the time to head to the shower every single day (you might have a busy schedule, I know I do), then use a leave in conditioner to make sure that you are protecting your hair from the perils of everyday life. Finally, make sure that you are fighting the frizz! Once again, curly hair becomes frizzy, and you’re going to need the product. Y
ou don’t need to spend a fortune, but you do need to make sure that your hair is able to be worked with – that’s everything. Curly hair is definitely a pain, but with the right care and with the right tools, you can definitely style it the way you want. We’re going to be posting videos in the future that detail some of the best styles and the best techniques for getting your hair exactly the way you want it.
