How to Fix the ‘Bed Head’ Nightmare

As you already know, bed head is a serious problem and it looks different for everyone. What we are talking about, of course, is the way in which your head looks once you climb out of your bed in the morning. Some people have hair that sticks up in the head, and others simply develop flat spots. The bottom line is that your hair looks like a complete disaster when you climb out of bed in the morning, and there’s nothing cool about it. There is one universal solution that works well, apart from pulling out the professional curling iron set, and we’re talking about taking a shower. Well, this should be a no-brainer, and who doesn’t like a hot shower in the morning?

We know we do, but do you really have time for it? The answer is probably no. You might be in a hurry, or maybe you just don’t feel like it. You probably know that dry shampoo is going to be a factor here, but what else? How else can you tame that out of control bed head? Something to keep in mind is that bed shorter hair is a bit more difficult to fix than longer hair, and with that being the case, we’re going to start by going over the fix for shorter hair, then we’ll move on.

Shorter Hair – How Do you Fix it?

Argan oil

Just Add Moisture!

You’re going to start by adding moisture to your hair, and we don’t mean immersing your hair in the sink – that could cause problems, including frizziness. Instead, we strongly recommend that you keep a spray bottle within reach of your bed, and you can purchase one at just about any dollar store. There is no reason to completely soak your head, just add a bit of moisture and move on to the next step, trust us.

Break out the Styling Products

We always recommend using the styling products that bring Argan oil into the picture, and early in the morning, you really don’t need to use much of it. In fact, a dime sized squirt should do the trick. Apply it to your entire head, but don’t bother concentrating it exclusively on the area that has bed head. You can, and it will probably feel good, but it’s just not necessary. Now that you’ve attacked your hair with your favorite styling product, you can proceed to style your hair exactly as you would if you weren’t dealing with bed hair.

Longer Hair – The Fix You’ve Been Waiting For

Here’s a fun fact: long hair is actually easier to fix than short hair, but why? Well, it’s because long hair is able to hide the bed head easier. That said, while it’s still going to take some effort, it’s not going to break your soul in the morning.

Start by Styling with Heat

This is where you’re going to need to break out the professional curling iron set! Use your iron to redirect your cowlicks and push them in the correct direction. Unlike with the styling product we mentioned earlier, you WILL want to focus on the flat spots that are being affected by the bed head. Just keep moving across your head with the flat iron, and you’ll get the result you want before you know it. As always, we strongly recommend that you use a hair iron that meets your needs, such as a higher temperature for rougher, coarser hair, and titanium for better heat coverage.

You know your hair type and you know what you need – we offer exactly what you need right here in our store if you need a change. Finally, make sure that you are taking advantage of hair bands and bobby pins to give your hair more volume and really direct it the way you want. It’s not hard to keep your hair under control, it just takes practice, and soon enough, you will be able to defeat the evil bedhead. Use HSI products for the best results, and get ready to face the day.
