How To Keep Your Hair Healthy This Cold Season

by Jade Feasel | Nov 30 2016

During the cold season, hair, just like skin, tends to get drier. This is mainly because of the aggressively cold air and wind, so here are some tips to help you maintain a healthy and beautiful mane this cold season:

1.     Hello, strand repair!

Dry hair needs extra hydration in winter, so never skip a good oil treatment when you have time for it. Apply it onto damp hair and cover it with a shower cap and a towel to keep warm. The oil will gently work into your tresses, making them silky soft.

2.     Always styled and stylish

Winter is no reason for you to stop styling your hair. You need to look gorgeous and feel great about your hair in every season. If you style your strands on a regular basis, remember to apply a hydrating mask at least once a week. It nourishes the hair, keeping it supple and healthy.

3.     Avoid synthetic fabrics

Is your hair dry? If so, stop wearing hats made of synthetic fabric right now! Your mane will keep getting frizzy because of static electricity which causes further damage, specifically to split ends.

4.     Nature inspired hair products

Every winter you should switch to gentle shampoos and conditioners with plant extracts, flower essences and natural oils. They are rich in vitamins and nutrients that help hair stay healthy. Read the labels, ladies!

5.     Keep hair styled under your hat

Before putting your hat on, remember to style it a little, boosting it at the roots to add some body to it. If this step is skipped, it will look super-flat when you take your hat off, insert hat head! Over a long period of time, specially in this beanie wearing weather, your hair will grow in this flat, unwanted way. This can be reversed, but it doesn't happen overnight! treat your scalp right, so you can wear all the beautiful winter hats you want!

Hold in there, girls! Spring will soon be here and your hair will finally breathe a sigh of relief.
