Hair Hacks You Absolutely Need to Know

Ionic Ceramic Hair Iron

Hair. It’s one of the single biggest problems on our minds, quite literally. You wake up in the morning, it’s in shambles. You go to bed at night, and you wonder what it’s going to look like the next time you open your eyes. Do we even need to mention the complete and utter horror that you probably feel when you step out of your house into the humidity or the rain? Yeah, you’re more than aware of that problem.

Fortunately, there are a few hair hacks you can use to keep your hair under control, and quickly. Most of these can be done for pretty cheap too! While it might be tempting to break out the ionic ceramic flat iron every time something goes wrong, sometimes, a quick fix will be in order.

Go Beyond the Ionic Ceramic Hair Iron with your Toothbrush

Do you have a frizz problem? That’s probably a silly question; who doesn’t? Frizz happens and using hairspray to control it can be a pretty delicate affair, to say the least. You need to make sure that you have just the right amount, or it simply won’t look right. If you want to keep it under control, just run an old (clean) toothbrush over your hair to help get rid of the flyaway strands.

Use Braids to Curl Your Hair

That probably sounds a little bit silly – braids aren’t curls, after all. Well, you can avoid using a dryer or a ceramic iron by braiding your wet hair after your shower at night, and leaving those braids in while you sleep. In the morning, once you take the braids out, you’ll have wavy hair, and with a little bit of scrunching, you’ll have exactly what you’re looking for.

Shine it Up with a Boar Bristle

Adding a little bit of shine to your hair can be a bit of a challenge, even with the best products. You’ve probably spent quite a bit of money on ceramic flat irons, among other things, but at the end of the day, one of the best ways to make your hair shiny is to run a boar bristle brush through it while you are blow drying. This will move the natural oils from the scalp to the ends.

Dry Shampoo Before Bed is Key

You might only wash your hair once or twice per week (you can do that as an adult), but if you’re getting ready to head to bed and don’t have time to get it done, use a dry shampoo before you lay down. The dry shampoo will work its way into your strands and give you the clean, healthy hair that you’ve been looking for.

Add Length with Extensions

One of our favorite hair hacks is the clip-in hair extension. When most people think of hair extensions, they’re thinking about something more along the lines of a weave or a permanent extension, but that’s actually not the way it has to go. As a matter of fact, you can use clip-in hair extensions which look real but can come out at the end of the day. If you purchase human hair extensions, you can even style them in the same way that you would your own hair. That includes the use of a flat ceramic iron or any other type of heat tool that you might typically use.

Secure your Bobby Pins with Hairspray

Even if you are among those who swear off the use of hairspray, you can still use it to secure your bobby pins to your hair. Simply spray them with a bit and then place them in your hair – this will keep them from sliding down the shaft and onto the floor. Now you know a few great tips for keeping your hair in good shape, even if you have only the most basic of implements around, or if you are short on time. Pass them on!
