Keeping Your Hair Healthy This Season
Does your skin get extra pampered in the cold season? Your hair will beg for the same. Indoor heating, harsh winds, low temperatures and static electricity can wreak havoc on your strands making them look brittle and dry. Here are some tips that will help your tresses not only survive winter, but look shiny and vibrant come spring.
Moisturize
Whether you are using a nourishing mask, like ours, or a warm oil treatment, hydrating your hair is a must during the cold season. No excuses.
Shampoo Less
Wash your hair no more than twice a week lest you should strip the scalp of its natural oils. In between, just use dry shampoo to avoid greasy-looking roots.
Cover
Hats protect from the cold, but will also shield your mane from the wind. Tip: avoid synthetic fabrics to prevent nasty frizz.
Trim Frequently
Get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks. It’s a great method to get rid of split ends and keep your strands in tip top shape.
Say No to Hot Water
Hot water dries hair considerably, so stick to lukewarm water instead. Tip: rinsing with cold water will close the cuticles sealing in moisture from your conditioner or mask. Just go for it.
