Those curls are good to you most of the time, but every once in a while it's nice to rock a different hair style, isn't it? We don't know one person with curly hair that doesn't like to straighten it every once in a while, but nearly everyone with curls tends to have a hard time with that; there's just something in that DNA that causes those locks to bunch right back up even after a ton of effort to straighten them out! Is it a lost cause? Thankfully not, when you're equipped with the right tools and know-how to get the job done!

At HSI Professional, we provide high quality salon styling products to consumers all over the world. Our product line is growing by the day, as is our customer base. Our products are among the best in the industry, we ship with lightening speed, and our customer service is top of the line. There's simply no justifiable reason to look elsewhere for that perfect product to make those big curls straight.

Ion Ceramic Flat Iron

Ensure You Have a Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron

What's one of the number one problems you run into when you try to straighten those curls? Does “frizz” sound familiar? Most people are under the impression that extreme heat will solve their problems, but with tight curls, that tends to only create more frizz and more problems. At HSI, we provide ceramic tourmaline flat irons that are made to cut down on frizz. How? In short, tourmaline is a crystal that is ground into a fine powder and infused into the ceramic plates of a flat iron.

When heated, this substance produces a huge amount of negative ions, enough to counteract the positive ions found in dry and damaged hair. What, exactly does this mean? It means that ceramic tourmaline flat irons are better at avoiding hair damage and neutralizing ions that cause static and frizz. So the first step in removing those curls is to ensure that you're straightener is made with ceramic tourmaline plates.

Ensure Your Settings Are Where They Need to Be

Everyone's hair is different, isn't it? You could line up 10 girls with “curly” hair, and every single one of them might have a different story on what it takes to get those curls out. Some curls are tight, some are more or less “waves”. The great news about HSI Professional flat irons is that they all come with a temperature dial so you can dial up or down the heat as you see fit for your hair; after all, we always recommend you keep temperatures no hotter than they actually need to be to get the job done.

Why is this especially important when you're trying to straighten those curls? It's simple: not hot enough will leave your hair not so straight, it's simply ineffective. Too much heat might keep it straight, but it will leave it dry, damaged and full of frizz – not the straight style you were looking for. Not sure where to start on finding what's right for your hair? We have a guide that should help! For course hair – that is, extra thick and curly – start around 450 degrees and work your way down. For normal hair, or wavy semi-curly hair, 350 is probably your best bet.

Fine hair – thin and naturally straight – or hair that is already damaged should start around 180 degrees. Color treated hair is best to start around 300 degrees. As a best practice, if you're not quite sure what's best for your hair, always begin from the lower temperature and work your way up. Once you find that perfect setting for your hair type, you'll find that straight style will stick around a little easier than it used to.

Ensure You're Using the Best Products for Great Results

HSI Professional

At HSI Professional, we offer a range of products for your hair with a primary ingredient of Argan oil. Argan oil is a naturally derived oil from the fruit of the Morrocan Argan tree; it infuses your hair with essential nutrients to give your hair the moisture it needs, to promote shine and to fight frizz. When it comes to ensuring your hair remains healthy and stays straight all day long, Argan oil is simply a must.

We provide several products that will repair and enrich dry and damaged hair as it replenishes moisture and shine and protects the hair from future damage: if it's a product necessary for healthy hair – we supply it with our Argan Oil compound. Argan Oil Heat Protectant is great for use before both flat iron (and curling wand) application – expect it to guard your hair from damage caused by excessive high heat exposure that one might get from straightening hair on the highest setting.

Argan Oil Hydrating Smoothing Mask is great for revitalizing dry or damaged hair after excessive heated product application. Argan Oil Leave-in Hair Treatment is perfect for conditioning, styling and finishing your hair; and Argan Oil Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner will moisturize dehydrated hair and remove build up as it cleans and conditions each strand before styling.

All of these products will work alongside your efforts to ensure your hair remains straight all day. So – now that you know what it takes to get those curls out, have at it! Use a ceramic tourmaline straightener, make sure the setting is not hotter (or cooler) than you need it to be, and use products that will promote great results!
