Use Argan Oil for Hair to Kill the Split Ends

You’ve had some good hair days and you’ve undoubtedly had some bad ones. On the good days, everything seems to fall in place, quite frankly I think that a good day often starts in front of the mirror, and on those good days you can just run your fingers right through your silky mane. On other days, you try to brush, it gets stuck, and sometimes you even snap off the handle.

Okay, seriously, that’s NOT going to set a good tone for the day, is it? You need to make sure you’re keeping your hair in good condition, and sometimes you need to seek out more advanced products like argan oil for hair. Before we get into that, however, let’s talk about what split ends actually are.

What are Split Ends? Can Argan Oil for Hair Help?

Split ends are the nemesis of anyone who wants perfect hair, which is probably just about everyone who has hair, and you know what? We’re all at risk for them. It doesn’t matter what race, what gender, what type of hair you have, you’re at risk, and if you leave it untreated, your hair is going to become dull and tangled.

Did we mention that it’s not going to look very cute? So what is a split end? Basically, this is what you get when the protective outer layer of the hair becomes damaged – this layer is known as the cuticle. Once the cuticle is eliminated, the proteins of your hair are exposed, and they are then vulnerable to the two things that everyone fears: splitting and breakage.

When Hair Splits

What you may not realize is that when your hair splits it doesn’t actually break cleanly, as many would lead you to believe. Actually, if you had a microscope on hand, and if you put a hair underneath it, you would see what looks like a piece of fractured wood.

So, here’s a fun fact: you can never fully repair the damage that’s been done to your hair, but you can put a patch on it for the meantime. With proper care, you can even make your damaged hair look healthy, and that’s quite a feat.

Getting it Clean

The first thing you want to do is make sure that you’re avoiding future breakage for your hair, which can be a bit of a chore in and of itself. We strongly recommend that you constantly wash and condition your hair as this will curb the possibility of future breakage, so keep the following in mind: hair is more elastic when wet, and conditioner will help a comb to glide effortlessly through the hair WITHOUT causing breakage. When you’re busy cleaning, make sure that you’re concentrating on the roots, and that you gently work on each and every strand.

You don’t want to concentrate too much on cleaning the ends, because no matter how much you scrub, you’re not going to be able to repair your split ends – work from the source instead. What you will manage to do here, is repair damage to any hair that is not already split and ensure that it continues growing as normal – that’s what you really want. There are ton of different shampoos out there that will help to move the healing process right along, but we can’t recommend argan oil hair conditioner enough.

Do remember when you’re washing your hair, you should consider using an argan oil leave in treatment, and make sure you use one that is of high quality. Here’s a fun fact: many leave-ins tend to evaporate right after styling, and then there are some that weigh your hair down for the entire day. Finding the right product and the right balance is critical – make sure you do your research before you choose just any leave in conditioner.

Keep your Hair Protected

You’re more than aware of what is causing your split ends, and there is a good chance that you’re not going to stop it. Flat irons and curling irons will cause the damage, but since you’re not going to stop using them (we really can’t blame you), then you need to choose a serum that will protect your hair while making use of the heat to heal your hair.

It can be a difficult journey, as you try to determine what will work best for your hair, but it’s well worth it, and if you can keep your hair from becoming a tangled mess at the mercy of your flat iron, just use the right products!
